This is a very rare, exquisite Edwardian gown in exceptional condition. The quality and condition is rare, but also, the larger size! It is fairly robust white cotton linen embelished with white embroidery and lace at the collar and sleeves. It has mother of pearl buttons from tail bone to nape of neck which are hidden in the seam. The sleeves are tiered, the waist is cinched, the skirt has two large pleats in the front. The dress has had two gussets put in to increase the bust size - these could easily be removed. This dress can be worn by a size eight with a fair bit of give, or a size ten snug around the waist. No stains or rips. A few small snags in the lace have been repaired with invisible stitching and are now, well, invisible! This dress is not fragile but truly wearable.
